Eye-Robics: Exercises For Your Eyes Only

22 August 2008 1,432 views 2 Comments

How many hours are you spending in front of your computer daily? Two hours… Five hours… 8 hours, or maybe more? In between those hours, have you ever thought about your eyes even for a minute?

Here are some eye workouts that you can do to simply relax your eyes even in the middle of a busy working day. These exercises aids your eyes and helps them stay younger.

1. The Fine-Print Sprint

If you work at a computer terminal for hours at a time try this: Tack a page of newsprint to a wall about 8 feet from where you ordinarily sit. Interrupt your work every then minutes or so and look up at the newspaper. Bring the print into focus. Then look back at the computer scree. Do this repeatedly for 30 seconds, about six times an hour.

Beneficial Effect: It could help eliminate the blurriness many people experience at the end of the work day.

2. Read Your Thumb

Hold your thumb at arm’s length. Move it in circles, Xs and crosses, closer and farther away. Follow it with your eyes. As you do so, keep as much of the room as possible in your field of vision. Continue the exercise with one eye closed. Repeat with the other eye

Beneficial Effect: This can improve your peripheral (outer part) vision.

Never take your eyes for granted. Care for them now because there’s more that the future can offer us that we shouldn’t miss to see.
