How To Make Money Online With Less Traffic Blog

4 January 2009 624 views 5 Comments

Compared to high traffic blogs owned by famous bloggers, trying to make money online with a less traffic blog isn’t that easy. True, you may find thousands of articles and posts over the internet teaching you how to make money online with your blog. But notice a majority of them only have one thing in common, they are only effective for high traffic blogs.

But what about for those average bloggers, those who only receive less than 100 unique hits per day? How can they really make money online with their less traffic blog?

The answer…

1. Paid Reviews

This is very common. A lot of bloggers are taking advantage of this kind of blog monetization method. Though advertisers initially look into the traffic or page ranking of a certain blog before they buy a review, some are still interested in buying a review from a low traffic blog, or PR 0 blogs. Earnings may be small but it’s better than nothing, right? As a matter of fact, I have less traffic blogs which gets some review offers from time to time.

Just a warning though, make sure to offer nofollow links whenever you are making paid reviews to avoid your site getting penalized by Google.

2. Paid Image Ads

You think only high traffic blogs get to receive a 125×125 banner ad deal? Wrong. Even if your blog receive less traffic but you are good at what you are blogging about, there is still a big chance that an advertiser would find your site worth dealing with.

I myself did managed to get a few 125×125 banner advertisers with a 20 hits per day traffic blog in the past. That’s an additional $3 per month!

3. Paid Links

Much similar with paid image ads, paid link ads are also a great way to bring revenue to your less traffic blog. Like what I said, even if you have less traffic blog chances are you can still bump into an advertiser who would be delighted to pay for a link in your blog.

4. Pay-Per-Click Ads

PPC ads like Adsense and Bidvertiser are great way to start your online money making quest. Since these programs don’t really take into consideration your blog’s traffic details, you can use them to monetize your less traffic blog. Even if you only get 2 to 4 clicks per day, when you accumulate them in a year you still get for yourself an adsense check.

To get more out of PPC ads, my advise is create a niche blog. A blog which is not for webmasters and bloggers but for ordinary people who are trying to find some information on the web. Why? Because webmaster and bloggers are very immune of PPC ads. They won’t click on these ads believe me.

Nice. Thanks for this post. But I think paid links can have some drawbacks if you wish to increase your PR (page rank). You will be having a lot of outbound link leakages. Perhaps just moderate those links! ;)

    God Bless!

In my Humble opinion those option are just for a short time goal coz later on, There will be some problem with the Search Engine, Earning thru Blogging Needs Patience..

You can do paid post as long as they can agree to nofollow tags those links.

    Just my thoughts

Hi guys, thanks for the comments. :)

Hehehe… I agree that paid links and posts are not a long-term way to earn from a blog. They may also cause big issues in the future. But still they remain as possible options for a blogger to monetize a less traffic blog that’s why I include them on the list.

The choice is always on the blogger. ;)

    Hi, Paulo, Jed, Dexter!

I also joined some paid link sites, and I’m hoping to get some ads, but not on my personal blog. I want to start a niche blog so the ads are on one place and related, unlike in my current blog (random thoughts so ads are random too) hehe.

By the way, Pau (hope you don’t mind me callin’ you that), like what I said, boyfriend did something to increase traffic, hence my PR2. He’s talking about SEO thing which I still don’t get. hehe

No problem fedhz. Actually, that is my nickname. :)

I also did some SEO on this blog to get more traffic from certain keywords but I don’t understand why my PR is not updating at all. Hoping you could share with me what boyfriend did to your blog. Hehe… Thanks!
