One of the most effective way to earn an income on the internet is called “Freelancing”. Freelancing allows you to do jobs at the comfort of your home using only your computer. Freelancer sites mostly offers data entry, proofreading, graphics design, web application development (Html, Php, Perl, Asp, Javascripts, etc.), website design, article writing, software programming, and other IT related jobs or project even customer service, legal, and marketing.

There are lots of freelancer sites on the internet. In this article, I will discuss to you the top 10 paying and most trusted freelancer sites based on their popularity and users testimonials.

1. oDesk

With more than $6 million dollars of work performed in a single month, oDesk is the largest marketplace for freelancing jobs.

Pay rates are based on the type of work, your skill level, work history and reputation. If you are a new provider, it is effective to price yourself a little below the average marketplace first.

There are lots of job opportunity on oDesk, and how far you take it is up to you.

I knew a number of people who have decided to quit their jobs and go full-time at oDesk. If you take in more jobs and you provide exceptional service, the more marketable you become.

For now I am active with only one freelance site (oDesk). My monthly income almost depends on it. I’d like to get into Elance as well, but oDesk is already sufficient for me.

At the same time, I want to earn from blogging too, in case jobs dry up.

Great list… I have just started with oDesk, but will probably check out the other sites as well and maybe add them to my freelance resource list. Thanks for the short review on each site!

The getacoder is so so so bad it shouldn’t even be there. They hardly reply at all and the website is down sometimes. Moreover, they refuse to pay you and state that the cash is suspicious and close your account. Great website ah? Getacoder is complete rubbish.
